Ash Wednesday Greetings 03/01/17

Ash Wednesday greetings from Church of Peace!

It is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the season of Lent. We will be gathering for worship this evening at 7:00 p.m. Holy Communion will be celebrated and ashes will be available for anyone who wants to be anointed. Please join us for this service of repentance, forgiveness, and healing.

Sunday’s sermon and service focuses on temptation.  We all face its challenges – come find out how to be strong in resisting.  Holy Communion will be celebrated.

HELP NEEDED! Church of Peace serves Loaves and Fishes on this coming Monday, March 6th.  We need workers from 3:30 – 6:00. We also need pans of bars. If you can help, please sign up on the church bulletin board or call the church at 251-8215.

We know of no one who is hospitalized at this time.

That’s the news from Church of Peace.

We’ll see you in church! Pastors Jenny and Jim

A prayer for today: Thank you, dear God, for the gift of forgiveness which you freely offer to me as I repent and attempt to change my waywardness. During this Lenten season, strengthen my faith and show me how to better serve you by serving others.  Amen.

Greetings from Church of Peace 02/23/17

Greetings from Church of Peace!

A treat lies ahead – our Sunday School children will sing in worship this Sunday! Our Scripture story will challenge us to overcome our fears and proceed boldly into the future. Join us at 8:45 a.m. for a time of faith-building and joy-sharing.

At 10:00 you are invited to the Multipurpose Room to receive the final financial report on the new addition.  This is not an official meeting of the congregation, but a time to gather as interested members and friends to receive a final accounting of the project.

We know of no one who is hospitalized at this time.

This Sunday you can sign up for a 2-hour time slot for Feed My Hungry Children, the food-packing extravaganza to be held on April 1st at the fairgrounds.  Join with hundreds of other Christians from local churches to assemble these packets which will be distributed around the world to hungry families.   This is a great family activity; we recommend it for people from ages 8 on up.  Let’s have some fun together while participating in this life-giving project.  For more information, call Starla Rebedew at 920-539-3256.

We’ll see you in church!  Pastors Jenny and Jim

A prayer for today: O God whose ways are always compassionate and kind, shine through my life today.  May other people feel your tender touch through my hands, hear your encouraging words through my words, sense your acceptance through my attitudes.  Let me be an instrument of your peace today.  Amen.
