Pentecost - Take Two ???

Greetings from Church of Peace!

Things happen.  This past Sunday the supply preacher whom we have known for years and who has always been dependable didn’t show up.  To Victor and Roger and all who met the surprise with grace – thank you! We are checking with her and with the Northeast Association to see that she is all right and that this doesn’t happen again.

This Sunday, it is Pentecost – Take Two. We’ll celebrate this holy day with upbeat music as we give thanks for the gift of the Holy Spirit in our lives as a church.  There will a prayer journey. Join us at 8:45 a.m. for a time of joyful worship.

Elizabeth Oestreich and Grant Groeschel will be married in our sanctuary this Saturday.  When you pray, ask for God’s blessing in their life together.

That’s the news from Church of Peace.

We’ll see you in church!  Pastors Jenny and Jim

A prayer for today: O what a beautiful day, O God, your creative hand has brought into existence today.  Thank you!  May your lovely Spirit bless me with joy at the gift of life and the ability to shine with your light in all I do.  I ask your special blessing upon Elizabeth and Grant as they begin married life together.  In Jesus’ name I pray.  Amen.

Greetings from Church of Peace!

What a special day Sunday is at Church of Peace!  We are confirming three fine young people to full Christian faith and church membership.  Our Sunday School children will sing and our Chapel Choir will sing twice!  Join us at 8:45 a.m. for this joyful time of worship and faith.

At 10:00 on Sunday morning, the whole family is invited to a scavenger hunt!  Thanks to our Sunday School teachers for organizing this event for our kids and their parents.  This will be the last Sunday of church school for the season.

Tomorrow afternoon Norlene Herrenbruck and Richard Haase will be joined in Christian marriage in our sanctuary.  May God bless their life together!

Hilda Feldmann is a patient in the hospital. Please remember her in prayer.

A prayer for today: How I yearn to feel the close presence of your Spirit today, O God.  Please bless me with a keen sense of your nearness.  Give me an open heart to hear your voice. Show me how to live faithfully as a disciple of Jesus. Bless our confirmands that they might experience your love on Sunday as they make their vows.   I pray that Hilda Feldmann will feel your healing power in her life. Amen.

Saturday is the SPRING WORK DAY! Arrive at 8:00 with rake in hand. Doughnuts will be shared mid-morning.  Let’s keep our church yard in tip-top shape.

A prayer for today: The lovely spring weather sets my soul singing, O God.  Thank you!  May my words and actions reflect my gratitude for all your blessings to me. May I be a bringer-of-peace and a source of joyful strength to the people around me.  I pray for Karen Babler as she recovers from surgery and for Amy Mitchell in her time of sorrow.  These things I pray remembering Jesus.  Amen.
