Greetings from Church of Peace 02/23/17

Greetings from Church of Peace!

A treat lies ahead – our Sunday School children will sing in worship this Sunday! Our Scripture story will challenge us to overcome our fears and proceed boldly into the future. Join us at 8:45 a.m. for a time of faith-building and joy-sharing.

At 10:00 you are invited to the Multipurpose Room to receive the final financial report on the new addition.  This is not an official meeting of the congregation, but a time to gather as interested members and friends to receive a final accounting of the project.

We know of no one who is hospitalized at this time.

This Sunday you can sign up for a 2-hour time slot for Feed My Hungry Children, the food-packing extravaganza to be held on April 1st at the fairgrounds.  Join with hundreds of other Christians from local churches to assemble these packets which will be distributed around the world to hungry families.   This is a great family activity; we recommend it for people from ages 8 on up.  Let’s have some fun together while participating in this life-giving project.  For more information, call Starla Rebedew at 920-539-3256.

That’s the news from Church of Peace.

We’ll see you in church!  Pastors Jenny and Jim

A prayer for today: O God whose ways are always compassionate and kind, shine through my life today.  May other people feel your tender touch through my hands, hear your encouraging words through my words, sense your acceptance through my attitudes.  Let me be an instrument of your peace today.  Amen.

Greetings from Church of Peace!

We have a special guest joining us in worship leadership this Sunday and we hope you’ll be here to enjoy and greet him.  His name is Rev. Franz Riegert. Franz serves as the Conference Minister of the Wisconsin Conference of the United Church of Christ. There will be a prayer journey and uplifting songs.  Worship will begin at 8:45.

We know of no one hospitalized at this time.

Starla Rebedew will be available after worship to answer questions about the Feed My Starving Children project in which we are participating with other Fond du Lac churches.

That’s the news from Church of Peace.

We’ll see you in church! Pastors Jenny and Jim

A prayer for today: Be with me today, O God, as I seek to follow Jesus in all my words and actions.  Help me to seize opportunities to reach out in compassionate love to others. I pray remembering Jesus.  Amen.

Greetings from Church of Peace 02/09/17

Greetings from Church of Peace!

It’s almost Valentine’s Day and, as has become our custom, during the service we will honor people with enduring marriages. Couples married fifty or more years will receive a rose.  Those married 25-50 years will receive a carnation.  It is such a delight to be able to honor these people! The sermon will focus on Biblical tips for a happy marriage. The choir will sing. Starla Rebedew will present information regarding the “Feed My Hungry Children” food-packaging extravaganza on April 1st.

Edsel Wiegert died yesterday morning.  His funeral will be held Wednesday at the church.

That’s the news from Church of Peace.

We’ll see you in church!  Pastors Jenny and Jim

A prayer for today: Warm my heart with your tender touch, O God, and fill me with the glow of your Spirit.  Let me shine your light in every aspect of my life as I seek to follow Christ.  Bless with your healing comfort the family of Edsel Wiegert.  Amen.
