Greetings from Church of Peace 03-29-17

Greetings from Church of Peace on this Lenten Wednesday!

Tonight we light the Lenten candle of repentance as we gather for our mid-week worship.  Join us as we ponder the Scripture, chuckle with Frank and Ernest, and feel the peace-bringing touch of God upon our souls. Worship begins at 7:00 p.m.

Sunday’s service focuses on the story of Ezekiel and the dry bones.  This life-giving story will remind us of God’s power to revitalize and renew us. Holy Communion will be celebrated. Worship begins at 8:45 a.m.

Reconstruction work on Gammert Hall began today!  If you would like to be a part of the re-do, please plan to attend the first meeting of the Gammert Hall Reconstruction Task Force on Thursday, April 6th at 6:30.  We can use your help!

This Saturday, people from Church of Peace will be participating in the Feed My Hungry Children pack-a-thon at the fairgrounds.  May God bless their work!

That’s the news from Church of Peace.

We’ll see you in church!  Pastors Jenny and Jim

A prayer for today: Walk with me, O Christ, as I go about my day today.  Show me ways to serve you and fill me with your peace.  Amen.

Greetings from Church of Peace 03/22/17

Greetings from Church of Peace!

We hope this Lenten season finds you growing in faith and hope.  Tonight’s service will feature the story of a Christ-like man plus the comics of Frank and Ernest.  Join us tonight at 7:00 as we light the Candle of Commitment.

The children will sing in worship on Sunday. The Scripture reading is the humor-filled story of the call of King David. Worship begins at 8:45. It will be an inspiring service.

Golden Fellowship will be gathering for BINGO and lunch next Tuesday, March 28th.  It will be a fun time and there are fabulous prizes.  Sign-up sheets are available in the narthex or near the elevator. Just bring your smile!

You are invited to join the Martha’s Society for their Lenten Quiet Hour at the Lutheran Home at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28th. This is a contemplative service which Church of Peace provides for the residents. Thank you, Marthas!

The April Messenger will be on-line and available at the church on Sunday. Be sure to check it out – there is a lot of good information in this issue.

Greetings from Church of Peace 03/15/17

Greetings from Church of Peace!

Brrr… It’s chilly outside!  But here at your church, it is cozy and welcoming.  Join us tonight at 7:00 p.m. for a service focusing on the nature of God and how we can live purposefully in light of that heavenly love.  The Lenten Candle of reconciliation will be lit.

Thirsty?  Moses’ traveling companions were thirsty in body and spirit.  Come on Sunday and hear how God rescued them – and rescues us – in times of spiritual drought. We’ll begin at 8:45 a.m.

Friday evening our middle-school students will be at the church for a lock-in.  Parents, need info?  Call Chan Ramirez at 921-2928.

Sunday is the last day to order Easter flowers to adorn our lovely sanctuary and then your home.  You will find an order form in Sunday’s bulletin or call the church office (921-8215) to place your order.

A prayer for today: How grateful I am, O God, to go about my day knowing that you are with me and within in.  Bless me with a glad and generous heart.  Show me how to serve you by helping others.  Amen.
