Greetings from Church of Peace on this Maundy Thursday!

Here is the run-down on what is happening this week at your church:

Tonight: Maundy Thursday service at 7:00 p.m. Holy Communion will be served in the pews.
Tomorrow: Good Friday service at 7:00 p.m. There will be a chancel drama.  Special music by Pastor Jim.
Sunday: Easter services at 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Holy Communion will be celebrated at the altar.  The choir will sing at both services.

Between Easter services the youth will be sponsoring a breakfast.  Please support our mission trippers by attending and donating generously.

We know of no one who is hospitalized at this time.

Parents of youth: the 6-12th graders will be gathering at the church on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. to prepare for the Easter breakfast.

That’s the news from Church of Peace.

We’ll see you in church!  Pastors Jenny and Jim

A prayer for today: Draw me closer to you, O God, as I walk with Jesus through this Holy Week.  Fill me with awe at the faithfulness and love which he showed.  Show me how to live following his example.  And on Sunday, fill me with pure Easter joy.  Amen.

Greetings from Church of Peace 03-21-18

Greetings from Church of Peace!

“Modern Life” – that’s tonight’s topic at our Lenten service.  Join us at 6:30 for a time of renewal, inspiration, and laughter.

Sunday is Palm Sunday. The Worship Enhancement Team will have transformed our sanctuary into a palm-filled wonderland and worshippers will be invited to take a palm home.  This service is full of triumph and will lift our hearts.  Join us at 8:45 a.m.

Terri Hoffman is a patient in the hospital. Please pray that God’s healing blessing will be upon her.

On Sunday we will receive our One Great Hour of Sharing offering.  This annual offering provides disaster relief throughout the year as well as funding development projects for the world’s people who suffer in severe poverty.  Let us open our hearts and give generously to this urgent ministry.

Looking ahead:

Next Thursday, March 29th, we will gather to remember the Last Supper of Jesus.  We’ll have communion served in the pews.  This will be a deeply meaningful service. It will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Friday, March 30th our sanctuary will be bare and our hearts heavy as we gather to commemorate the death of our Lord. Join us at 7:00 p.m. for a time of remembrance.

Easter Sunday is April 1st this year (no foolin’).  We will worship at 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. with altar communion at each service.  The choir will sing at both services as well.  The mission trip youth will offer a breakfast between the services.

That’s the news from Church of Peace.

We’ll see you in church!  Pastors Jenny and Jim

A prayer for today: Strengthen my heart today, O God, with your gifts of hope and faith. Fill me with a deep desire to be a disciple and show me ways to serve you.  Grant me wisdom and guidance in the choices that I make.  I pray that your healing light will shine upon Terri Hoffman, returning her to health and strength.  Amen.

Greetings from Church of Peace 03-14-18

Greetings from Church of Peace!
Tonight we gather at 7:00 p.m. to look with the eyes of faith at another facet of human life – aging.  The comics of Pickles will make us laugh and the inspiration of Scripture will fill our hearts with hope. Join us – you’ll be so glad that you did!

Sunday’s service brings us a chancel drama, beautiful music, and times of heart-warming prayer.  The service will begin at 8:45 a.m.

It’s time for another Family Faith Formation event!  We will meet from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. for crafts, activities, worship, and lunch.  The theme this month is prayer.

Nancy and Al Pahnke are both in the hospital.  Please pray that God’s healing touch will be upon both of them.

That’s the news from Church of Peace.
