Greetings from Church of Peace 09/29/16

Greetings from Church of Peace!

This Sunday we’ll be celebrating World Communion Sunday along with churches across Fond du Lac and around the world.  Join us and feel connected with your sisters and brothers in faith worldwide.  The sermon will focus on God’s gifts of love, power, and self-control.

Janet Rymer is in the hospital.  Please pray for her speedy and complete recovery from surgery.

After Sunday School this week, you are invited to attend a bike-ride-and-picnic with church friends.  We’ll meet at Lakeside Park at 11:15. You can choose between a long ride and a short ride.  A potluck lunch will be shared afterwards by riders and non-riders alike. Join us for a fun time! It looks like the weather will be delightful.

Construction report: Today they have begun putting the bricks on the outside of the new addition.  Lots of drywall has gone up over the past week on the inside. Insulation is being installed. Want to see for yourself? Tours of the construction will be offered after worship on October 9th.

That’s the news from Church of Peace.

We’ll see you in church!  Pastors Jenny and Jim

A prayer for today: O God who walks with us through the hills and valleys of life, guiding and strengthening us for every challenge, today I pray for a sense of your nearness and an openness to hear your voice.  May I live this day as a faithful disciple of Jesus. Shine your healing light upon Janet Rymer and bless her with returning health and strength.  These things I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Greetings from Church of Peace 9/22/16

Greetings from Church of Peace!

Join us at 8:45 a.m. on Sunday for a Spirit-filled, peace-bringing worship service.

We extend our Christian sympathy to the family of John Stepp who died earlier this week.

It’s our turn to serve Loaves and Fishes this coming Tuesday.  We still need workers and people to donate goodies.  Please sign up on the bulletin board in Gammert Hall.  We especially need clean-up help beginning at about 5:30.

Why should kindergartners have all the fun? You are invited to a time of show-and-tell at Sunset On the Water next Tuesday, September 27th at 11:30. Bring something to show and buy yourself a delicious lunch.  Golden Fellowship is sponsoring this event.

Construction news:  Our new family bathroom has walls! Other work this week has included preparing the outside walls for insulation and working in the boiler room.  Lots of progress!

That’s the news from Church of Peace.

A prayer for today: Today, O God, I pray for strength to do the things I need to do, a sense of your nearness and love, and peace of heart as I proceed throughout my day.  Bless the family of John Stepp with heavenly comfort.  And bless our congregation as we seek to live together in your ways.  Amen.

Monday night at 6:30 the second installment of our Bible study series will take place.  Last week’s group reported that it was inspirational and a lot of fun.  Join in!

Construction news: This week has seen major progress on the family bathroom in Gammert Hall.  Other work that has been done includes
a blue coat of waterproofing paint on the outside of the building, work on the sprinkler system, and flashings and soffits on the roof.
