Greetings from Church of
Peace!
Dedication Sunday is
finally here! Join us at 8:45 a.m. for a
jubilant worship service (complete with a trumpeter) as we ask God’s blessing
upon our new addition. Following
worship, we will proceed to the ribbon-cutting at the new staircase and the reception
in the new Fellowship Hall. It will be a
glorious morning!
There is no Sunday School
this Sunday so the students and their teachers can enjoy the dedication
festivities. For the remaining months of the Sunday School year, the children
will be assembling in the sanctuary and walking over to the Y as they have been
doing.
In order to stock our new food
pantry freezer, we invite you to bring one pound of hamburger or ground turkey
to the service on Sunday. Please leave
it in the wrapping in which it was purchased. Thank you!
Donna Birkholz, Alice Thorsby,
and Leo Zinniel have been in the hospital.
Donna is home. Alice is now a
resident at the Lutheran Home. Leo is now a patient at St. Francis Home. Please
remember these people in your prayers.
Office Manager Jackie Rymer
has resigned her position as of Friday, February 3rd. We will host a
reception in her honor after worship on February 5th. Jackie has done an outstanding job for
thirteen years and we will miss her in the office. She will continue to worship
with us.
Pastor Jim Martin will be
leading worship with me on Sunday and will be resuming pastoral duties at
Church of Peace over the next few weeks.
We rejoice that he is “back in the saddle again.”
That’s the news from Church of
Peace.
We’ll see you in church! Pastor Jenny
A prayer for today: Bless me, O God, on this day as I try to
live in the manner of Jesus. Fill me
with your joy and your peace. Bless
Donna Birkholz, Alice Thorsby, and Leo Zinniel with your healing power. And bless our congregation as we rededicate
ourselves and our building to your service.
Amen.
