Greetings from Church of Peace!

Tonight we gather at 7:00 p.m. for the Service of Remembrance and Hope.  This lovely candle-lit service is gentle and peaceful.  It is designed not only for those who are sad this Christmas but also for those who yearn for a quiet time of spiritual restoration.

Greetings from Church of Peace 12-07-17

Greetings from Church of Peace!

Brrr…. Winter has finally come to us here in Fond du Lac! But our sanctuary is warm and welcoming as we celebrate the Advent season.  This Sunday we will light the candle of Peace, have an anthem from the choir, and be inspired by the story of John the Baptist.  Join us at 8:45 a.m.!

The Council will be setting up the Christmas trees after worship on Sunday.  If you’d like to help, please meet us up in the sanctuary about 10:30.  We’ll set them up and put on the lights.  The confirmation class will add the ornaments on Wednesday.

Saturday is the second rehearsal for the Sunday School’s Christmas Program.  Have your children at the church from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.  Parents are welcomed to stay and help!

Next week:
*Tuesday: Golden Fellowship at 11:00 with lunch to follow.  Join us for a fun tour of the Mexican Copper Canyon district. Please sign up so we have plenty of lunch.

*Thursday: The Service of Remembrance and Hope will be held at 7:00. This service is designed to bring peace to our hearts, especially for those who are missing someone who has died or moved away. This service is healing and hopeful.

Have you been filling your Reverse Advent Calendar box?  If you do not have a list of needed food, you can check the Messenger on the website (www.uccchurchofpeace.org).

A prayer for today: Bless me, dear God, with a clear vision of how I can help you as I go about my day today.  Show me how to bring cheer and hope to all I meet.  Open my eyes to your many blessings and make me truly thankful.  Amen.
