Holy Week Greetings from Church
of Peace!
We greet you in the name of
Christ on this holiest of weeks in the church year. Here’s the schedule:
v
- Tonight’s Maundy Thursday service begins at 7:00 p.m. We will remember Jesus washing the feet of the disciples and we will share the Lord’s Supper around the table.
- v Tomorrow’s Good Friday service also begins at 7:00 p.m. Listen as people from the Bible tell of their experiences on the tragic day when Jesus was killed. Pastor Jim will sing a solo. The candles will be extinguished and we will leave in silence.
- Sunday’s Easter services begin at 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. At each service, we will have a trumpeter, the choir will sing, and we will celebrate Holy Communion. There will be a social hour between services.
We invite you to make your Easter
observation complete by attending worship on each of these holy days.
Please remember Norma Bacon in
your prayers. Her son Len died this
week.
All doors will be open this
Sunday so you can park and enter as usual. Asbestos abatement takes place next
week; call the church before you stop by because the staff may be working from
their homes on a couple of the days next week.
The April edition of The Messenger is now available on our
website (www.uccchurchofpeace.org)
and in the elevator entrance of the church building.
That’s the news from Church of
Peace.
We’ll see you in church! Pastors
Jenny and Jim
A prayer for today: On this holy Thursday, O God, I pause to
thank you once again for the beautiful witness of Jesus as he commanded us to
love one another and for the ways he showed that love in his life. Please enable my life to be a true reflection
of my deep gratitude. I pray for your
gift of solace to be poured out on Norma Bacon.
And please bless our congregation as we worship and pray in the coming
days. Amen.
