Greetings from Church of
Peace,
It’s hot! But in our lovely air-conditioned sanctuary
on Sunday, we’ll be comfortable as we sing, pray, and hear the Word of God
together. Our theme will be “What is faith?”
We will dedicate prayer shawls for Rev. Jim and Mary Klein.
Rev. Jim Klein remains
hospitalized. Rev. Jerry Schrankler is
returning home today after a time in the hospital. So please keep these former pastors in your
prayers this week.
Monday is the last softball
game before tournaments. It will be held
at 6:00 p.m. at Sabish Middle School. Come cheer on our team!
Construction news: Doesn’t the
new addition look spectacular? Today the roofers are at work putting shingles
on the canopy. Late last week, a plumber
was under the floor of Gammert Hall determining the next step for the family bathroom.
A week from this coming
Sunday, on August 14th, we will host our outdoor worship and church
picnic at Taylor Park shelter at 10:00 a.m.
Please bring your own chair and a dish to pass (sub sandwiches, plates,
utensils, and water will be provided). There will be a free swim at the pool
from 1-4 for Church of Peace family and friends.
It's almost time for day camp!
Wednesday, August 17th from 9:00 a.m.—7:00 p.m. will be Church of
Peace Day Camp at Pilgrim Center for families and individuals who want to have
fun and experience what it is like to go to church camp. There will be swimming, faith-building, a
nature walk, crawdad fishing, and lots of great food. All members of the church family are invited
and children can bring a friend or two. Sign-up sheets are located in your
Messenger or at the church office.
That’s the news from Church of
Peace.
We’ll see you in church!
Pastors Jenny and Jim
A prayer for today: Loving God, I am grateful that you always stop
and listen when I call out to you. Open my ears to the call of the world
around me and show me how to respond with your love. Shine your healing
light upon Revs. Jim Klein and Jerry Schrankler. Amen.
