Greetings from Church of Peace
for this Holy Week!
Here are the highlights:
*Maundy
Thursday’s service tomorrow is at 7:00 p.m.
It features a reenactment of the Last Supper with Jesus and the
disciples around the table. All of us
will share with them in the Lord’s Supper.
This is deeply inspirational; you are encouraged to invite a friend to
join you in this worship experience.
*Good
Friday’s service is also at 7:00 p.m. A chancel drama of four people has been
prepared for this night. Pastor Jim will
provide special music. Join us for this
solemn remembrance of the death of Jesus.
*Easter
services are at 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. These festive services will be
complete with a trumpeter and special music – the choir at 8:00 and Inge
Adelmeyer at 10:00. The front of our
sanctuary will be lovely in its garden finery.
Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate the resurrection of Christ. Between
services a social hour will be hosted by the middle-school youth.
Our thanks to the many people
of Church of Peace who are working together to provide these varied and
meaningful worship experiences.
When you pray, please remember
Randy Stafford and Malita Patchett who are in the hospital. Funeral services
for Bettye Baker will be held tomorrow.
May God’s peace rest upon her family and friends.
Please sign up for Golden
Fellowship. The program will feature Tom
Strauss’ duck carvings and the story of Norbert’s courageous escape from Cuba
on a raft. The date is Tuesday, April 25th.
You can bring in rummage for
the Ladies of Peace sale any morning.
The sale will be Friday and Saturday, April 28th and 29th.
Help in setting up during the week of the sale will be most appreciated.
That’s the news from Church of
Peace.
We’ll see you in church! Pastors Jenny and Jim
A prayer for today: As I travel through this Holy Week with
Jesus, I pray, O God, that you will fill me with a new love for my Savior. Show me how to express that love in
compassion and kindness toward all people. Bless Randy Stafford, Malita
Patchett, and the family of Bettye Baker with your healing peace. And give to all who participate in the Holy
Week services deep meaning and a sense of your nearness and love. Amen.
