Greetings from Church of
Peace!
“And the walls came a-tumbling down!” These words from the old
Sunday School song came to mind this week as the major demo started at Church
of Peace. Yesterday, a Bobcat (vehicle,
not animal) was in the building rescuing the remaining recyclable materials
before the big machines come in. Drive by and you may see some pretty exciting
action around here.
Worship this Sunday will
feature the story of the conversion of Saul to Paul. This is one of the cornerstone stories of our
faith and offers significant meaning for our lives. The service will begin at 8:45.
Tom Schultz is in the
hospital. Please pray that he will heal
quickly and completely from surgery.
This Sunday, you will be able
to enter the church building at the elevator entrance, up the long front
stairs, or through the arched first-floor door at the corner of Military and
Ruggles. You can park at the Y or in the
north parking lot. If you cannot walk from those distances, you are invited to
use the back parking lot.
COP Day at the YMCA is this
Sunday. Pop in to the Y anytime between
11:00 and 3:30 to use the facilities. Join us at noon in the Community Room for
lunch. It will be fun!
That’s the news from Church of
Peace.
We’ll see you in church!
Pastors Jenny and Jim
A prayer for today: God of hope and joy, I give you thanks for
the many blessings this day has already held. Bless the remaining hours to my
use in your service. Be with Tom Schultz
as he recovers from surgery. I pray
these things as I seek to be a faithful disciple of Jesus. Amen.
