Greetings from Church of
Peace!
We’re excited about Sunday!
First, there will be worship at 8:45 a.m. with the baptism of the Pickart twins
and the blessing of the Faith Formation Wing. Then, at 10:00 a.m. Sunday School
begins for the season, meeting in the sanctuary and then adjourning to their
new home. There will be joy in the
air. Join us!
Growth in faith isn’t just for
children. We’re offering a Bible study for adults during Sunday School this
year. Our first series will be on Bad Girls of the Bible. Join us Sunday mornings at 10:00 in the
Multipurpose Room. No Biblical knowledge required!
We’re having two work times to
tidy up the Faith Formation Wing and get the furniture in place for Sunday
School. We’ll be working tonight (Thursday)
from 6:30 p.m. for a couple of hours and then again on Saturday morning
beginning at 8:30. We especially need
strong people to carry tables and chairs. But if you can dust, you’re qualified
and needed! Please come help get this area ready for our little ones.
Our youth will be in the
church kitchen on Saturday, the 16th, to make applesauce for the
Fall Festival. Does anyone have an
electric food mill that we can use? Let
Pastor Jenny know if we can borrow yours. That’s a lot of applesauce to crank
by hand!
A week from Sunday (on
September 17th) we’ll be gathering at Lakeside Park at 11:15 for a
bike ride and potluck picnic. Last year
we all had a great time. Bring the kids
and join us! Please sign up either on
the bulletin board or by calling the church office at 921-8215.
That’s the news from Church of
Peace!
We’ll see you in church! Pastors Jenny and Jim
A prayer for today: Thank you, O God, for calling me to be your
disciple. Show me how to serve you
today. I ask your special blessing upon
our church family as we prepare for the new Sunday School season. Please grant wisdom for our teachers and open
hearts for each of our young ones. May
each one feel welcomed and loved. Amen.
